All character animation was done by me. This shot employs primarily body motion capture paired with facial keyframed animation. Data was cleaned in Vicon Shogun Post, body animation edits were done in Motion Builder and facial animation edits were done in Maya. Our young protagonist in this shot needed to convey a sense of awe and wonder to all the plants and color shifting happening around her. When working with the director of this shot, we both had to place the camera animation as the front and center leading force to this shot. I led our motion capture actress (who was also our texturing lead) to run and spin on the motion capture stage.
Body animation was done by me. Facial animation and further smaller tweaks of the fingers and hat animation was done by another animator on the team. This shot shows our motion capture and keyframe animation pipeline and its greatest strength to be passed onto other animators. The body motion capture made by me could then be paired with facial keyframed animation for only our young bipedal protagonist. The animator who was given this shot additionally keyframed our pink bird character.

Our protagonist is much older now and going onto the next stage her life. She shows a lot of care and concern to where she is going next.
This character walk was done by me. Our older protagonist walk was done primarily with motion capture in Vicon Shogun Post and further body edits were made in Motion Builder. Facial animation and finger edits were fixed in Maya. Our older protagonist is all grown up and everything isn't as magical anymore. She wants to take a look at the garden with one more fond look before she leaves for her plane ride to somewhere new.
